In this write-up, we go over the installation process of our Faux Rear Diffuser for 2005-2009 Mustangs. This neat little part gives your standard Mustang the look of the Shelby GTs and California Specials.

 

Tools Required:

• Rubbing Alcohol
• Clean Cloth

 The diffusor is installed using 3M double sided adhesive. The tape comes pre-installed on the diffusor. Simply peel away the red plastic covering to expose the gray adhesive.

 

Here is the diffusor ready for installation. It is important to limit the amount of debris that comes in contact with the gray adhesive.

 

Next, we'll be installing the diffusor onto the rear bumper. Make sure the area in which the diffusor will be installed is extremely clean and dry. We recommend rubbing the entire area down with rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. Once your bumper is clean, you are ready for installation. Place the end of the diffusor into the recessed area as shown below.

 

Next, move to the center and firmly press the diffusor into place. Run your hand over the top and bottom portion of the diffusor to ensure a firm bond to the bumper.

 

Finally, work your way to the other side of the diffusor and make sure it is firmly bonded to the rear bumper.
